In just four days this week, Greektown Taverna collected 70 turkeys for the Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties’ annual Thanksgiving food drive, replacing turkeys lost in the restaurant’s freezer when the power went out during Hurricane Irma in September 2017.
The Youth Groups from Temple Beth-El and Congregation B’nai Torah in Ormond Beach, and Temple Beth Shalom in Palm Coast conducted their annual Trick or Treat for Hunger food drive to collect donations for the Jewish Federation’s Jerry Doliner Food Bank.

Just weeks after local philanthropist L. Gale Lemerand donated a $12,000 matching grant to the Jerry Doliner Food Bank, Nancy and Lowell Lohman visited the food bank on Friday, Dec. 22, and donated a $12,100 matching grant to feed the less fortunate.
An Ormond Beach teen started a nonprofit group, Ormond Beach Girls Give, to help the community and donated its first check for $2,200 in August 2019 to provide backpacks and school supplies to economically disadvantaged children.
