Raising Funds to Build Bomb Shelter
The Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties will build another bomb shelter in Israel following the barrage of rocket attacks suffered during the recent conflict.
Our little Federation already has donated nine bomb shelters through the years, and these are used as community centers and schools during the day. We are asking for funds to complete a 10th bomb shelter, which is currently under construction and will also serve as a school in Ashbod, Israel.
The bomb shelter will be built in memory of Celeste Doliner Jacobson, who passed away May 18, 2021, at age 86. She was a longtime supporter and friend of our Federation, and our Jerry Doliner Food Bank is named in memory of her first husband.
“Israel sure needed all the bomb shelters they could get,” said Gloria Max, Federation executive director, after the recent attacks. “Please help us help the children of Israel be safe when these rocket attacks occur.”
The Federation has raised $60,000 toward the $125,000 project. If you would like to donate, please send checks to the Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties, 470 Andalusia Ave., Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Or donate online on Mightycause at: Support Bomb Shelter In Israel on Mightycause.
